Attached to the excellent French restaurant Club Gascon, this West Smithfield bar has a subtle, elegant atmosphere, with pale blue walls and inviting leather banquettes.

It has something of the air of a gentlemen’s club, relaxed but sophisticated. Unsurprisingly given its name, it has an incredible wine list featuring a large selection of bottles from south-west France. Evidently a lot of care and consideration has gone in to compiling it, packed as it is with obscure and unexpected delights.
